90 Day Men

Sometimes a band rises from the earth as if it had been smoldering in the formative magma of the earth's core for years; unrelated and seemingly oblivious to any musical trend, yet rising with an immediate and darkly foreign impact. 90 Day Men is such a band and "To Everybody" is such a record. Phantoms above the rocky forms of previous releases, "To Everybody"'s unmistakable blend of harmonized and sung/slurred vocals animated hollow body guitar tracks, dramatically sublime electric and natural piano movements built around a darkly textured and enthralling rhythm section, is sure to bring the band to a new surface of exposure and experience exemplifying the sound of a band coming into its own.

"To Everybody"  is the group's second album proper, following 2000's "(It (is) It) Critical Band" released on the Chicago/ London based Southern Records family. "To Everybody" is the first 90 Day Men album to feature keyboard/piano player Andy Lansangan on every track, bringing forth bold and beautiful natural piano sounds as well as clever and imaginative electric piano overdubs.

The group first came to light in the summer of 1995 making music in the former bass player's, Chandler McWilliams, basement and soon graduated to a few live performances around the St. Louis area. Naming themselves 90 Day Men (derived from an expression used to describe criminals awaiting psychiatric evaluation in a book entitled "The Criminal Personality" by Samuel Yochelson) the band relocated to Chicago in the fall of 1995 and set to work in the city's thriving music scene.

Over the next three years, the band released a host of independent releases including on self-released single, a single on local Chicago label Actionboy Records, a 5 song EP on a Baltimore local Indie Temporary Residence, and a split cd with San Diego's GoGoGo Airheart on Chicago's Boxfactory Records. The band also embarked on several US tours in support of their short but jarring releases.

Their previous and debut full-length release brought the 90 Day Men critical acclaim from such national publications as: Magnet, Alternative Press, SPIN and SPIN Online's Top 20 of 2000. 90 Day Men extensively toured their first LP in both the US and Europe, ending with a recording for the John Peel Show in February of 2001.

90 Day Men began recording "To Everybody" in mid-September 2001 at Dallas Sound Labs, Last Beat Studios and the Paperhouse, with friend and musical contemporary John Congleton. The record was finished two weeks later in preparation for a February 2002 release date.

The domestic and European releases of "To Everybody" will coinicide with full tours of the US and Europe beginning early March 2002 in the states and continuing into Europe through April and May.
